Terms of Service
By downloading or using Codafy ("the app"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. What Codafy Is
Codafy is a client application — a music player. It connects to a Plex Media Server that you set up, own, and control. The app provides the interface and playback features only.
Codafy does not provide a media server, media library, media catalog, or any music content.
2. Content Is Yours
Codafy does not host, provide, stream, distribute, or supply any music or artwork. All media you access through the app resides on servers you connect to and is provided entirely by you.
Codafy may display lyrics retrieved from sources configured by you, but the app does not own, host, guarantee, or verify those lyrics.
You are solely responsible for the content in your library and for ensuring you have the legal right to store, access, and play it. The developer has no knowledge of, control over, or responsibility for that content, and does not endorse it.
3. Third-Party Services
The app connects to your Plex Media Server and to plex.tv to function. If backup is enabled, the app may also connect to Apple's iCloud/CloudKit services. Lyrics are fetched from third-party sources that you choose to configure.
The app is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Plex or any lyrics provider, and the developer is not responsible for those services or their content.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the app lawfully and only with content you are authorized to access. You may not use the app to infringe the rights of others or to violate any applicable law.
5. No Warranty
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. The developer does not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every server configuration.
6. Backup Services (iCloud and Backup Files)
Codafy offers optional backup features for your ratings, listening history, and playlists: optional sync through iCloud, and a manual export to a portable file (.codafy). Both are provided on a best-effort basis, "as is", with no guarantee of completeness, availability, or successful restoration.
Backup and restore operations can be interrupted or fail for reasons outside the developer's control, including (without limitation): loss of internet connectivity, the device running out of battery or being powered off mid-operation, insufficient storage space, Apple's iCloud/CloudKit service being unavailable or rejecting the sync, or a backup file becoming corrupted, lost, or altered after you export it.
If you enable iCloud Backup or export a backup file, you do so at your own risk. You are responsible for verifying that your backup is current and usable, and for the storage, custody, and handling of any exported file once it leaves the app (e.g. when shared via AirDrop, Files, email, or any other service). The developer is not responsible for data loss, incomplete backups, or failed restores resulting from these or similar circumstances. If you are not comfortable with this risk, do not enable iCloud Backup or export backup files.
7. Subscriptions and Purchases
Some Codafy features may require a paid subscription or in-app purchase. Payments are processed by Apple through your Apple ID and are subject to Apple's payment terms.
Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions from your Apple ID account settings.
Refund requests and billing issues are handled by Apple. Premium features, prices, trial availability, and subscription plans may change over time, subject to applicable App Store rules.
8. European Union Users
If Codafy is distributed in the European Union, certain developer trader information may be displayed on Codafy's App Store product page as required by the European Union Digital Services Act and other applicable laws.
Nothing in these Terms limits any consumer rights that may be available to you under applicable European Union or local law.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data or content, arising from your use of the app.
10. Trademarks
Plex and the Plex logo are trademarks of Plex, Inc. All other product names, logos, and brands are property of their respective owners and are used for identification only.
11. Changes to These Terms
These Terms may be updated as the app evolves. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
12. Apple Terms
These Terms supplement Apple's standard End User License Agreement where applicable. If there is a conflict between these Terms and Apple's applicable App Store terms, Apple's terms control to the extent required by Apple.
